Samsung is not just known for its smartphones and Gadgets but also for its advanced semiconductor technology.

Today Samsung Electronics has announced that it has started mass production of its first Exynos-branded IoT solution called Exynos i T200.

It is optimum Internet of Things (IoT) solution, capable of delivering performance needed. It is built on 28nm low power High-K Metal Gate (HKMG) process that allows high processing capabilities and Wi-Fi connectivity.

The Samsung Exynos i T200 makes use of both – Cortex-R4 processor and Cortex-M0+ processors. This allows chip to perform several tasks without the need of extra micro-controller IC in system.

Moreover, it comes with Wi-Fi Certified certification from Wi-Fi Alliance and is also Microsoft Azure Certified for IoT. It supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n single band (2.4GHz).

The Exynos i T200 natively supports IoTivity, an IoT protocol standard from Open Connectivity Foundation (OCF). There are several several security features as well.

It has separate and designated security management hardware black called Security Sub-System (SSS). There is an additional Physical Unclonable Function (PUF) IP that provides secure data storage .

Ben Hur, Vice President of System LSI marketing at Samsung Electronics commented –

The Exynos i T200 is an IoT solution optimized to deliver both the performance and security demanded in the IoT market. With various Exynos solution offerings, Samsung will deliver further differentiated value to not only mobile devices, but also non-mobile spaces, including automotive and IoT.
