Android Pay officially launched in Belgium

In recent days, digital payment has been talk of the town. While there are many options available, one known name is Android Pay.
Starting today, Android Pay has been officially launched in Belgium. Android Smartphone users in the country can easily and securely make payments in more than 85,000 retail locations throughout Belgium.
They include most of known brand shops like Carrefour, McDonald’s, Media Markt, H&M etc. With this, Belgium has become 10th country in the world to support Android Pay.

Add eligible MasterCard and / or Visa Credit card details from BSP Paribas Fortis, Fintro and Hello Bank. (debit cards from those banks and CBC / KBC will be supported soon).
Once the details are added, to use it, just wake up your phone (you don’t even have to open an app or unlock it), hold it to the payment terminal, and voilà — your payment is done. After you check out, you’ll get helpful information on your phone about your recent transactions.
When you are shopping inside a mobile apps, Android Pay eliminates the need to enter your payment or address details every time. Simply look for the Android Pay purchase button in apps like Deliveroo, TransferWise and Vueling (many others like Sit, Uber ot be added soon). Do note that NFC is required for in-shop purchases.
For fast acceptance of Android Pay, google has teamed up with various leading payment platforms, processors and technology providers such as Braintree and Stripe.
