French firm Archos has announced its latest smartphones under its Helium Series called 50f Helium and 55 Helium Ultra. Both the mobiles will be showcased at IFA 2016 event that starts from August 30th.
The Archos 50f Helium will be priced at £99.90 (US$ 131 approx.) and will be up for purchase from archos.com and its distribution channel world wide in October 2016. A Lite version of the smartphone with 1GB RAM / 8GB Storage will also be released with price-tag of £70.90 (US$ 90 approx.).
The Archos 55 Helium Ultra is priced at £119.00 (US$ 156 approx.) and will be available in October 2016. It has a Lite version as well with 1GB RAM / 16GB Storage called the Archos 55 Helium. It has price-tag of £89.00 (US$ 117 approx.) and will be available in September 2016. It’s third variant, the Archos 55 Helium 4 Seasons with 1GB RAM / 16GB Storage and 4 back casings will cost £100 (US$ 131 approx.) and will be available in October 2016.
Archos 50f Helium
The Phone features a premium design with metal finishing and rounded edges. It has a fingerprint sensor on the back side that unlocks the phone in 1 second. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS and comes pre-installed with ARCHOS Video and ARCHOS Files Apps. The phone measures 144 x 72.2 x 9.1 mm and weighs about 158 grams.
The Archos 50f Helium Ultra specs include 5-Inch IPS multi-touch display with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. It is powered by 1.1GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 MSM8909 processor with Adreno 304 GPU. It has 2GB RAM and 32GB storage space and allows further expansion up to 128GB using MicroSD Card.
The phone is equipped with 2MP front and 8MP main snapper on the back with LED Flash and supports 1080p video recording as well. It has 2000 mAh Li-Ion removable battery (42 grams weight) and supports Qualcomm’s quick charging as well.
The smartphone packs in dual Micro SIM slots and supports 4G LTE at Cat4 speeds. Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth V4.0, MicroUSB V2.0, USB OTG, GPS, FM Radio, 3.5mm Audio jack etc. Light, Proximity and G-Sensors are also present.
Archos 55 Helium Ultra
This is a slightly premium smartphone than the former, boasting a 5.5-Inch IPS display with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. It runs on purest form of Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS.
Under the hood is 1.3GHz quad-core Cortex-A53 MediaTek MT6737 processor with ARM Mali-T720 MP GPU (600MHz). It has 3GB RAM for smooth multi-tasking and comes with 32GB Storage ROM. MicroSD cards up to 128GB are also supported.
In terms of measurements, the phone has dimensions of 153 x 77 x 8.1 mm and weighs 162 grams. The phone has Dual SIM slots inside and supports 4G LTE.
The Archos 55 Helium Ultra specs include 2700 mAh Li-Ion removable Battery (47 grams weight). It offers up to 22 hours of standby on single sim and comes with 5V/1A charging adaptor. The phone is equipped with 2MP front and 8MP auto focus snapper on the back with LED Flash and 720p video recording capabilities.
It also supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth V4.0, MicroUSB V2.0, USB OTG, GPS, FM Radio, 3.5mm Audio jack etc.
