A new top end smartphone from ASUS called ZenFone 9 has been made official. It comes with an impressive specs sheet.
The ASUS ZenFone 9 price for 8GB/128GB variant is set at 799 Euros ($809 / Rs. 64,460 approx.) in European markets and $699 (Rs. 55,700 approx.) in United States.
The smartphone comes in Midnight Black, Moolinght White, Sunset Red and Starry Blue colors. It will initially start rolling out in markets of Europe, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Other markets like North America, Japan, Indonesia and some parts of South America will get stocks later.
ASUS ZenFone 9 specs and features
It is a dual SIM smartphone with Nano SIM slots and allows 5G SA/NSA and Dual 4G VoLTE. The mobile has measurements of 146.58 x 68.17 x 9.45 mm and weighs 169 grams. It has IP68 water and dust resistant rating for added durability.
The ASUS ZenFone 9 feature a side mounted fingerprint sensor for biometircs. The ASUS ZenTouch fingeprint sensor is placed on power button and offers multi-functions including gesture control. It can be used to open notification, refresh web page, voice-to-text, move from top or bottom of page or control media.
The ZenFone 9 specs include 5.9-inch AMOLED display that offers 2400 x 1080 pixels FHD+ resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio and 120Hz refresh rate. It has Delta E<1, HDR10+, 115% sRGB colors, 112% DCI-P3 color gamut and delivers 800nits peak brightness. The screen has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection on top.
Powering inside is an octa-core Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 mobile platform with Adreno next-gen GPU. The cell phone comes in options of 8GB LPDDR5 RAM with 128GB UFS 3.1 storage and 8GB/16GB LPDDR5 RAM with 256GB UFS 3.1 storage space.
For better thermals, ASUS has included 1727.17mm² vapor chamber cooling that has 230% larger attached area than its predecessor. This mobile phone boots with Android 12 and ASUS ZenUI 9.0 on top. Sadly, ZenFone 9 is liable for 2 years of OS and security updates.
For optics, this ASUS flagship phone has 12MP auto focus front facing camera with Sony IMX663 sensor. At the back side are two cameras and LED Flash. It has 50MP main rear camera with Sony IMX766 sensor, 6-axis gimbal stabilization, 2×2 OCL PDAF and F/1.9 Aperture. It has 12MP secondary ultra-wide (with macro option) lens at back with Sony IMX663 sensor and dual PDAF). The cell phone supports 8K video recording as well.
For optimum audio experience, ASUS ZenFone 9 feature in stereo speakers with Qualcomm Aqstic WCD9380, Qualcomm Aqstic amp WSA8835 and Dirac Audio.
The hardware is juiced up by a 4300mAh typical battery capacity. It has support 30W fast charging and supports PD and QC 4.0 fast charging protocols. Notably charger is included inside the box. Notably, the mobile can go from 0 to 50% in just under 30 minutes.
For connectivity, it has Wi-Fi 6e 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth V5.2, USB Type-C, NFC, dual band GPS/GLONASS/Beidou/Galileo/QZSS/NavIC and 3.5mm audio jack.
