BlackBerry KEY2 with QWERTY keyboard, SD660, 6GB RAM announced

Blackberry has been working on a QWERTY smartphone codenamed ‘ATHENA‘ for quite some time. Now, company has officially announced this new Android Smartphone and company is calling it as KEY2.
The device measures 151.4 x 71.8 x 8.5 mm and weighs 168 grams. It has physical 4-row QWERTY keyboard (backlit and is 20% bigger than its predecessor) of which space-bar houses a fingerprint sensor. It offers up to 52 customizable shortcuts, supports touch gestures and flicker typing.
The BlackBerry KEY2 features in a ‘Speed Key’, a dedicated key for quick launching desired applications. The key is also customizable. Rear side of the handset has a diamond pattern while there is 7-series aluminum frame. Inside is Hybrid Dual Nano SIM slots of which one slot doubles up for MicroSD card.
The handset is powered by Android 8.1 Oreo OS. It has 4.5-inch touch screen which offers 1620 x 1080 pixels resolution at 3:2 aspect ratio and 433ppi pixel density. There is Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection as well for added durability.
The BlackBerry KEY2 specs include octa-core (2.2GHz Kryo 260 x 4 + 1.8GHz Kryo 260 x 4) Snapdragon 660 Mobile Platform with Adreno 512 GPU. It has 6GB RAM and comes in 64GB / 128GB storage options. The cell phone also allows further expansion up to 2TB using MicroSD card.

It has 12MP primary rear snapper with F/1.8 aperture, 1.14µm pixel size, 79.3-degree wide-angle lens and supports Dual PDAF. The secondary rear shooter packs in f/2.6 aperture, 1.0µm pixel size and 50-degree lens. At the front side is an 8MP selfie camera.
The hardware is powered by 3360 mAh battery which supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging. The KEY 2 is said to offer about 25 hours of battery backup on mixed usage. The device also sports dual microphones and supports HD Audio.
Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-F 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual band (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth V5.0 LE, GPS/GLONASS, USB Type-C 3.0, NFC and 3.5mm Audio jack.
The BlackBerry KEY2 price starts at $649 (Rs. 43,520 approx.) in the U.S., €649 in Europe, £579 in UK and CA$ 829 in Canada. The handset comes in Silver and Black colors.
