Fitbit is a global brand known for its Fitness centered wearables. Today, company has introduced Fitbit Ionic, company’s latest health and fitness smartwatch.
It is water resistant up to 50 meters and is sweat, rain and splash proof. It’s band is bade from flexible, durable elastomer material that stays clean and dry. It’s buckle is made from surgical-grade stainless steel. The smartwatch is durable enough to operate in temperatures ranging from -4 to 133 degrees F.
The Fitbit Ionic features intelligent frame, sporting nano-molded uni-body design. Company has used strong yet light weight 6000 series aerospace-grade aluminum. The frame hold GPS (supports GLONASS) antenna for stronger satellite connection.
The fitness smartwatch packs in 8 different sensors. They include Altimeter, 3-axis accelerometer, Digital Compass, GPS, Optical Heart Rate Monitor, Ambient Light sensor, Vibration motor along with other Sensors & components.
The Fitbit Ionic also packs in a Lithium-Polymer battery that charges in maximum of 2 hours. It is claimed to last 4+ days while with GPS on, it will go up to 10 hours.
It connects using Bluetooth V4.0. Once synced, one can get call / text notifications, control music using Bluetooth Classic etc. The Fitness smartwatch can track steps, distance walked, floors, activities calories burned etc. It can also send reminders
The Fitbit Ionic can also track different stages of sleep. The smartwatch can save / play up to 300+ songs, access Pandora without the need of phone. It has built-in NFC chip that can store credit card info or make payments.
The Fitbit Ionic is priced at $299.95 and is up for pre-sale at Fitbit.com. It will be available globally beginning October 2017. In North America, one can also buy Ionic from Amazon, Best Buy, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Kohl’s, Macy’s, REI, Target and Verizon.
