Garmin Fenix 5 Plus smartwatch series with Garmin Pay support announced

Garmin has announced its latest Fenix 5 Plus series smartwatches which include Fenix 5S Plus, Fenix 5 Plus and Fenix 5X Plus.
All of them are rugged yet premium smartwatches which comes with 10 ATM water rating up to 100 meters. Their case is made from fiber-reinforced polymer with metal rear cover while it has options for Silicone, leather or titanium straps. The series comes in two finishing – a PVD-Coated stainless stell bezel with silicone watch band or for a lighter material.
The Fenix 5 series ranges in size from 42-51 mm and boasts a bright sunlight readable display.They feature in 1.2-inch full color Garmin Chroma Display (240 x 240 pixels) with LED back-lighting to assure sunlight readability.

It has Wrist-based Pulse Oximeter which is helpful in high altitude activities. The series will also include wrist based heart rate sensor along with all multi sport and smart connectivity features which was seen in Fenix 5 models.
The Plus series have built-in map date for at-a-glance navigation and location tracking. Using the map, one can create cycling routes, round-trip courses and track distance. The Trendline popularity routing feature will use Garmin Connect data to help users find / follow paths or trails previously explored by users.
Just like recently announced Vivoactive 3 Music, the Fenix 5S Plus, Fenix 5 Plus and 5X Plus comes with on-board music storage. It can store up to 500 songs for phone-free listening. Users can download offline playlists from select music streaming services like iHeartRadio, Deezer etc or transfer music from PC directly.
They also support Garmin Pay, a contactless payment solution. One can use Garmin Pay wallet and avail the same benefits and rewards of a physical card.
The Fenix 5S Plus can fetch you up to 7 days of usage in smartwatch mode, about 4 hours in GPS and Music mode. The Fenix 5 Plus on the other hand fetches about 10 days battery life in smartwatch mode and about 8 hours in GPS and Music mode. The Fenix 5X Plus has about 20 days of battery life in smartwatch mode and 13 hours in GPS and Music Mode. Users can also leverage UltraTrac power saver mode for extended battery life.
The Feinix 5 Plus series will have suggested retail price ranging form $699.99 to $1149.99. It will go on sale in Q2, 2018.
