Garmin has announced its latest smartwatch with on-device music storage called Garmin Forerunner 645 Music. It also comes with 5ATM rating for water resistance. GPS is also present.
The Forerunner 645 Music is company’s first watch that can store up to 500 songs offline. It easily connects with Bluetooth headset to play songs, thus eliminating need for smartphones. It can also sync with select streaming services for offline listening.
It has 24/7 heart rate monitoring2, a wrist-based heart rate monitor. It has performance monitoring features and can evaluate current training status. The smartwatch also provides advanced running dynamics like ground contact time, stride length, vertical ratio etc.
Aesthetically speaking, it has metal bezel, chemically strengthened glass and inter-changeable bands. The Garmin Forerunner 645 Music features in 1.2-inch always-on Garmin Chroma Display which is sunlight visible.. It has transflective memory-in-pixel (MIP) and offers 240 x 240 pixels resolution.
The smartwatch is compatible with most Android and iOS smartphones and connects using Bluetooth Smart and ANT+. It also supports Garmin Pay contact-less payment solution.
The battery inside is said to offer 5 hours backup with GPS mode with music. In smartwatch mode, it can go up to 7 days without charge.
The Garmin Forerunner 645 Music has suggested retail price of $44.99 (Rs. 28,580 approx.) and comes with Black or cerise band. The Forerunner 645 without music storage carries suggested retail price of $399.99 (Rs. 25,410 approx. and comes in black or sandstone band.
