Gionee has ended the rumors and has announced its latest smartphones called the M6 and M6 Plus. Both the phones feature an encrypted chip (China only) that secures calls, sms’s and user’s personal data.
Both the mobiles have metal alloy body with zircon sad surface coating. They have a fingerprint sensor at the back for added security. Other common feat is an octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 processor and 4GB RAM. Connectivity options are more or less the same as well.
They include support for 4G LTE with VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac/a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS etc. Moreover, Both of them have 9V/2A fast charging support with dual charging chip.
Gionee M6
The phone measures 152.3 x 75.3 x 8.2 mm and weighs 180 grams. It has 5.5-Inch AMOLED display with 2.5D curved glass. The screen gives 1920 x 1080 pixels full HD resolution, 100% NTSC color gamut and 30000:1 contrast ratio.
The Gionee M6 specs include 1.8GHz octa core MediaTek Helio P10 MT6755 processor, Mali-T860 MP2 GPU and 4GB RAM. It comes in 64GB and 128GB storage options, both expandable up to 128GB using MicroSD card.
It has dual SIM slots inside and supports 4G LTE with VoLTE. The phone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with Amigo OS 3.5. The phone has 5000 mAh battery with fast charging capabilities.
The smartphone sports an 8MP front camera with Omnivision OV8856 sensor, F/2.2 Aperture and 1.12µm pixel size. On the back is 13MP primary snapper with LED flash, F/2.0 Aperture, Sony IMX258 sensor, 5P lens, 1.12µm pixel size and supports PDAF as well.
Gionee M6 Plus
This is slightly larger smartphone boasting 6-Inch AMOLED display. It has 1080p resolution, comes with 2.5D curved glass and supports multi-touch as well.
The phone runs on slightly overclocked 2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 (MT6755) processor and has the same Mali-T860 MP2 GPU. It has 4GB RAM, 64GB / 128GB storage options and is powered by a larger 6020 mAh battery (with fast charging)
The Gionee M6 Plus specifications also include 16MP main snapper at the back with dual LED flash and PDAF. It has the same 8MP selfie camera found in M6. The mobile has dimensions of 160.5 x 80.6 x 8.2 mm and weighs 215 grams.
The handset runs on Amigo OS 3.5 based on Android 6.0 marshmallow. It has Dual SIM slots as well with VoLTE support.
The Gionee M6 is priced at 2699 Yuan (US$ 404) for 64GB model and 2899 Yuan (US$ 434) for 128GB storage variant. It comes in Gold and Latte Gold colors and will go on sale in China from August 6, 2016. The Gionne M6 Plus on the other hand will be available only in Gold color option ans will carry price-tag of 2999 Yuan (US$ 449) for 64GB variant and 3199 yuan (US$ 479) for 128GB model. It will go on sale from August 13, 2016. Global release dates were not revealed.
