Google announces Yi Halo 3D VR Jump camera

Google, in partnership with YI Technology has announced Yi Halo 3D Virtual Reality camera. It is based on Jump VR technology, which Google first launched back in 2015.
Jump team has partnered with top camera manufactures to build professional, high quality VR cameras. Each footage captures goes through Jump Assembler, which uses sophisticated computer vision algorithms and computing power of Google Data centers to create 3D 360 videos.
The Yi Halo features in 17 (16 horizontal and 1 up) 4K capable cameras, including an optimally placed up camera. Weighing less than 8 pounds, this 3D VR Camera is easy to carry. The battery inside is ATL 93Wh Li-Po that offers 100 minutes of continuous shooting.
There is a special Yi Halo Android app that can act as remote control or live preview tool. The camera is specially built to natively work with the Assembler.The camera has dimensions of 28.7 x 28.7 x 19.2 cms. It’s tripod has 1 x 3/8”-20 and 2 x 1/4”-16 aluminium mounting points.
Yi Halo 3D Virtual Reality camera image -01Coming to the specifications of Yi Halo 3D VR camera, it has 18 Ambarella A9SE75 chipset (main processor). It’s  17 units have Sony IMX377 imaging sensor with 1/2.3-inch sensor size. Its 12MP CMOS imaging sensors offer Exmor R ability as well. The device is more than capable of capturing 8K by 8K stereoscopic 360-degree VR footage at 30Fps and 6K by 6K at 60Fps.
The lens inside is of F/2.8 aperture and has 155-degree wide angles. There is an omni-directional microphone There is 2.2-inch LCD screen with 640 x 360 pixels resolution, 330ppip ixel density, 250nits brightness, 16:9 aspect ratio and 160-degree FOV.
The YI Halo will go on sale this summer. Select video creators can avail it today. It will be priced at $16,999.
