Google has unveiled Chromecast Ultra dongle along with its Pixel Phones. It measures 58.20 x 13.70 x 85.20 mm (length x width x height) and weighs 47 grams. It comes with 2 meter power cable and Adaptor (weighs 101 grams).
The Chromecast Ultra supports all resolutions that goes up to 4K Ultra HD. It also offers High dynamic range (HDR) for excellent picture quality. Connectivity wise, it has support for Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz) and 1×2 SIMO Wi-Fi for high-performance streaming.
It includes HDMI port that plugs directly into the TV. It has MicroUSB for power and data and houses Ethernet port as well (on power adaptor). It works on Android 4.1, Mac OS X 10.9, iOS 8.0, Windows 7 and higher.
It is easy to setup. Users can plug Chromecast Ultra into power source and TV’s HDMI port than select HDMI input on TV. Download Google Home App (follow instructions), Open compatible apps and tap cast button. With this, users can use Smartphones, Tablets or laptops to play, pause and adjust volume or stream to TV.
Google Chromecast Ultra is priced at $69 and will go on sale next month. It comes in Black color.
