Google has put an end to its Nexus brand and has introduced its Pixel Series. Search Engine giant has just unveiled two new smartphones called Pixel and Pixel XL.
The Google Pixel is a smaller device with a 5-Inch AMOLED display, 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and 441ppi pixel density. The Google Pixel XL on the other hand features in a 5.5-inch AMOLED screen with 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution and 534ppi pixel density.
Both the phones are powered by quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor with Adreno 530 GPU. They have 4GB RAM and comes in 32GB and 128GB storage options. Google is also offering unlimited Google Photos storage for storing pictures at full resolution.
Another thing common among them is operating system, which is Android 7.1 Nougat. It bring in “sustained performance mode” which is upgrade to LG V20, first phone with Android 7.0 Nougat OS. They have fingerprint sensor as well for added security.
These Android Phones are made by HTC however comes with Google branding. The Google Pixel and Pixel XL are powered by 2770 mAh and 3450 mAh batteries respectively.
They come bundled with 8MP selfie snapper on the front. On the back side is a 12.3MP camera unit with F/2.0 Aperture, 1.55µm pixel size, Electronic image stabilization and supports 4K video recording as well. It has refined HDR+ algorithms that captures series of images at multiple shot exposures, fuses them in to single to produce enhanced image.
Connectivity wise, It supports 4G LTE with VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth, USB Type-C, GPS, NFC etc.
The Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones will be up for pre-order from today itself in US, U.K. Canada, Germany and Australia. It can be pre-ordered from October 13th in India.
Pricing of these smartphones starts from $649 (for 32GB variant)or $27 a month at Verizon (exclusive in US). The Pixel 128GB model is priced at $749. The larger Pixel XL smartphone has price-tag of $769 for 32GB and $869 for 128GB variants. Actual sales begin from October 20th. These handsets come in Quite Black, Very Silver and Really Blue colors.
