Along with Pixel 7 series smartphones, Google has also announced its first Pixel Watch at “Made By Google 22” event. It comes in both Wi-Fi only and LTE variants.
Google Pixel Watch features
The smartwatch comes in dimensions of 41 x 12.3 mm and weighs about 36 grams without strap. It has 5ATM water resistant rating and can easily survive in water depths of up to 50 meters.
The Google Pixel Watch feature a stainless steel body and sports circular 3D domed glass. The wearable itself is scratch resistant offering better durability. It has a side button (above crown) and haptic crown for easy accessibility (including recently used apps).
The Pixel Watch specs include an AMOLED always-on display that offers 320ppi pixel density and delivers up to 1000nits peak brightness. It has 3D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 (custom) protection on top. Google is offering 19 customizable watch faces as well.
Under the hood is Exynos 9110 chipset coupled with Cortex-M33 co-processor. It is paired with 2GB RAM and 32GB eMMC storage. The device runs on WearOS 3.5 and comes with free YouTube Premium for 3-months. There is support for Google Assistant which seamlessly integrates with smart home devices.
The Google Pixel Watch integrates with Fitbit to offer best-in-class health and fitness features. It has optical heart rate sensor which tracks heart beats every second accurately thanks to on-device machine learning and processor-level deep optimizations.
Additionally, there is Blood Oxygen sensor for checking Blood oxygen saturation levels, Ambient light sensor, gyroscope, acceleormeter, altimeter, compass and multi-purpose electric sensor. It has ECG app with Afib detection and sleep detection (sleep stages and scores).
The Pixel Watch comes with 40 exercise modes and will get Fall detection feature in coming winter. There is support for Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth V5.0, NFC and GPS/GLONASS/Beidou/Galileo for positioning.
The wearable comes with built-in speaker and microphone for Bluetooth / LTE calling. Additionally, it can show call / text / app / Gmail / Calendar notifications and supports Google Wallet, Google Maps, YouTube Music and Google Play.
The Google Pixel Watch feature in 294mAh battery that offers 24 hours of battery life with typical use. It has support for fast charging that charges up to 50% in 30 minutes, 80% in 55 minutes and 100% in about 80 minuets.
