Honor Play officially launched in India – Specs, Price

Huawei’s Honor brand as expected, has officially launched Honor Play smartphone in India. It was first announced in China back in June.
The Honor Play specifications include 6.3-inch multi-touch 2.5D curved glass LCD display which offers 2340 x 1080 pixels full HD+ resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 85% NTSC color gamut, 409ppi pixel density and features in 89% screen-to-body ratio.
The heart of smartphone is pumped by an octa-core (2.4GHz A73 x 4 + 1.8GHz A53 x 4) Huawei Kirin 970 SoC and includes i7 co-processor, Neural Processing Unit and Mali_G72 MP12 GPU. The device also supports GPU Turbo, which is company’s new Graphics processing acceleration technology that offers 4D gaming experience.

The chipset is paired with 4GB / 6GB LPDDR4X RAM, 64GB UFS 2.1 storage space and allows further expansion up to 256GB using MicroSD card. The smartphone comes pre-installed with Android 8.1 Oreo with EMUI 8.2 on top.
The Honor Play features in 16MP selfie camera with F/2.0 Aperture. The front camera leverages pixel binning technology which combines information from four pixels to create one large 2.0µm pixel.
At the back side is 16MP primary rear camera with F/2.2 Aperture, PDAF, CAF, AI Scene recognition (detects over 500 scenes) and LED Flash. There is a secondary 2MP rear cameras as well.
The mobile has dimensions of 157.91 x 74.27 x 7.84 mm and weighs 176 grams. It has metal back and houses a rear mounted fingerprint sensor. The smartphone also supports 7.1-channel Histen audio. There is a 3750 mAh fast charging battery.
Connectivity options include Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth V4.2 LE, USB Type-C audio, GPS, NFC and 3.5mm Audio jack.

The Honor Play price in India is set at Rs. 19,999  for 4GB/64GB variant and goes up to Rs. 23,999 for 6GB/64GB model. It comes in Black, Blue, Red and Violet colors. It will be available online in India exclusively at Amazon.in.
