HONOR V40 5G gets official unveil with Dimensity 1000+ SoC

Honor has officially unveiled its new HONOR V40 5G smartphone in China. It is newest member in company’s V Series lineup and is powered by Android 10 with Magic UI 4.0.

The HONOR V40 5G features in 6.72-inch curved OLED display offering 2676 x 1236 pixels resolution. The screen has 80° super curve at the edges. It also boasts up to 120Hz refresh rate and delivers 800nits of peak brightness.

Under the hood is Octa-core (2.6GHz A77 x 4 + 2GHz A55 x 4) MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ processor with Mali-G77 MC9 GPU. It has 8GB RAM and 128GB / 256GB storage options. Also included is GPU Turbo X graphics acceleration engine for enhanced gaming experience.

The HONOR V40 5G specs include dual front cameras which include 16MP (main) and ToF sensor. At the back side are triple cameras which makeup of 50MP (main, 1/1.56″ RYYB Sony IMX766 sensor, F/1.9, 4-in-1 larger pixel at 2.0um) + 8MP (Ultra-wide, F/2.4) + 2MP (macro, F/2.4) and LED Flash.

The Honor V40 comes with Dual Nano SIM slots and houses an in-display fingerprint sensor for authentication. Company has also included Stereo speakers and USB Type-C audio (no 3.5mm headphone jack).

The cell phone is powered by 4000mAh (typical) / 3900mAh (minimum) battery capacity. It has support for 66W superCharge fast charging and 50W wireless charging. Company claims that phone charges up to 60% in just 15 minutes.

In terms of connectivity, it has support for 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), USB Type-C, Bluetooth V5.1 and GPS/GLONASS/Beidou.

The HONOR V40 5G 8GB/128GB is priced at 3599 Yuan ($555 / Rs, 40,620 approx.) while its 8GB/256GB model is priced slightly higher at 3999 Yuan ($618 / Rs. 45,140 approx.). The handset comes in Titanium Silver, Midnight Black and Rose Gold colors. It is already up for order in China.
