HTC U Ultra and U Play smartphones launched in India

HTC has just launched U Ultra and U Play smartphones in India. Both of them went official last month. Both of them have metal frame, glass front and glass back with four curved edges.

HTC U Ultra

They HTC U Ultra specs include 5.7-inch LCD 5 display with 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution. It has Gorilla Glass 5 protection, while the 128GB variant comes with Sapphire Glass. There is a 2-inch secondary LCD 5 display with 160 x 1040 pixels resolution and 520ppi pixel density.
Under the hood is a quad-core (2.15GHz kyro x 2 + 1.6GHz kyro x 2) Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor with Adreno 530 GPU. It has 4GB RAM, 64GB storage ROM and allows further expansion up to 2TB.
The smartphone measures 162.41 x 79.79 x 3.6 – 7.99 mm and weighs 161 grams. It has Hybrid Dual SIM slots and supports 4G LTE. It also comes bundled with HTC USonic, HTC BoomSound Hi-Fi edition 4 3D Audio recording microphones.
The HTC U Ultra runs on Android 7.0 Nougat OS with HTC Sense UI. It also includes HTC Sense Companion software that learns about users and offers relevant suggestions.
The hardware inside is powered by 3000 mAh battery and supports Quick Charge 3.0 as well. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth V4.2, GPS+GLONASS, USB 3.1 Type-C, NFC etc.
The U Ultra features in 16MP selfie camera with UltraPixel mode and F/2.0 Aperture. On the back side is a 12MP UltraPixel 2 camera unit with dual-tone LED flash, F/1.8 Aperture, 1.55 micron pixels, Laser AF, OIS and 4K recording capabilities.
The HTC U Ultra is priced at MOP of INR 59,999 ($896) and comes in Brilliant Black, Cosmetic Pink and Sapphire Blue Black colors. It will be available from March 6th.

HTC U Play

This smartphone measures 145.99 x 72.9 x 3.5 – 7.99 mm and weighs 145 grams. It has fingerprint sensor embedded on home button.
It has hybrid dual SIM slots (nano + nano / microSD) and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. It has HTC Usonic and dual Microphones for noise cancellation.
The HTC U Play specs include 5.2-Inch Super LCD display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution. It has corning Gorilla Glass protection and supports multi-touch.
Under the hood is an octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 processor with Mali-T860 GPU. It is backed by 4GB RAM, 64GB storage ROM and allows further expansion up to 2TB as well using MicroSD card.
The mobile is equipped with 16MP front camera with F/2.0 Aperture, 28mm lens and comes with UltraPixel mode as well. The rear snapper is of 16MP with F/2.0 Aperture, dual tone LED flash, PDAF, OIS and 1080p video recording.
The hardware is backed by 2500 mAh fast charging battery. Connectivity wise, it supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth V4.2, GPS, NFC, USB 2.0 Type-C etc.
The HTC U Play is priced at MOP of INR 39,990 ($597) and comes in Iceberg White, Indigo Blue, Cosmic Pink Gold and Black Oil color options. It will be available from mid-march.
Both of these handsets come with 1 Year insurance that covers liquid and physical damages. Standard chartered Debit / Credit card holders can avail 7.5% cashback from March 6th to May 31st, 2017.
