HTC has just announced its latest flagship phone in its ‘U Series’ called HTC U11. As per earlier rumors, it comes with Edge Sense feature that executes specific functions when you squeeze edges.
It’s Edge Sensor can launch camera, open emails, send text messages and can also be customized to launch any application. There are advanced touch functions accessible with “short squeeze’ and “squeeze and hold”.
As it is based on actual pressure, the feature can work in almost any condition, like in rain or snow and even works with gloves. The IP57 rating for water and dust resistance is an added bonus.
The Mobile phone has dimensions of 153.9 x 75.9 x 7.9 mm and weighs 169 grams. It has fingerprint sensor embedded on home button. HTC U11 has liquid glass surface, crafted using Optical Spectrum Hybrid Deposition.It is created by layering highly refractive precious minerals across phones back cover.
The new HTC USonic and USB-C audio combines active noise cancellation and brings ability to tune audio to your unique hearing. The active noise cancellation reduces surrounding distractions, continuously monitors environmental sound levels and quickly adjusts to any new noises or disturbances. Its USonic earbuds maps inner ear with advanced sonar like technology and then adapts sound profile to your unique biology.
The HTC U11 specs include 5.5-Inch Super LCD 5 display with 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution. It supports multi-touch and has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection for scratch resistance. Under the hood is a 2.45GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with Adreno 540 GPU.
It comes with 4GB RAM with 64GB storage (in US) and 6GB RAM with 128GB UFS 2.1 storage options. Both the storage variants will allow further expansion up to 2TB using MicroSD card. The cell phone will have Single / Hybrid Dual SIM (nano + nano / microSD) options.
The smartphone also has four omni-directional microphones that records audio from all direction. When recording, users can visually zoom in their target and amplify their specific sounds. The U11 also has HTC BoomSound Hi-Fi Edition and is Hi-Res audio certified for optimum audio experience.
Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth V4.2, GPS/A-GPS/GLONASS, NFC, USB Type-C 3.1 Gen1 etc.
