Huawei’s latest flagship phone, the V8 is official now. It is latest smartphone in Honor series with measurements of 157.00 x 77.60 x 7.75 mm and weighs 170 grams. Interestingly, the box packaging can be transformed in to VR headset.
It has fingerprint sensor on the back and houses a dedicated key on the right side that opens intelligent voice actions or quickly open applications. It also houses Infrared sensor.
It has 5.7-Inch 2.5D curved display with 1920 x 1080 / 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution. It supports multi-touch as well. Depending on the variant, the mobile is powered by (2.5GHz Cortex-A72 x 4 + 1.8GHz Cortex-A53 x 4) Kirin 955 processor or (2.3GHz Cortex-A72 x 4 + 1.8GHz Cortex-A53 x 4) Kirin 950 processor. It has Mali-T880 MP4 GPU for graphics performance.
The smartphone houses 12MP dual camera on the back with F/2.0 Aperutre, 6p Lens, Laser Auto Focus and dual-tone LED flash. It has 8MP slefie camera on the front as well with F/2.4 Aperture.
It has 3500 mAh (typical) / 3400 mAh (minimum) battery inside and supports fast charging as well. The phone also comes bundled with infrared sensor inside. Connectivity options like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4 / 5GHz) Bluetooth V4.2, GPS, NFC, USB Type-C, 3.5mm audio jack are present as well.
The Huawei Honor V8 is priced at 2299 Yuan (US$ 352) for the variant with 1080p display, Kirin 950 Soc, 4GB RAM and 32G Storage. The second version with more network support is priced at 2499 Yuan (US$ 383). The Premium model with 2K Display, Kirin 955 SoC, 4GB RAM and 64GB storage is priced upwards at 2799 Yuan (US$ 430).
The V8 comes in Platinum Silver, Ceramic White, Champagne Gold, Rose Gold, Ice Silver and Gray colour options. It will go on sale in China from May 17, 2016 and is already up for order in the country.
