Huawei Mate 40 with Kirin 9000E 5G SoC, 50MP triple rear cameras unveiled

Huawei has officially introduced its latest Mate Series smartphone called Huawei Mate 40. It is an Android 10 powered handset with EMUI 11 and sports an in-display fingerprint sensor.

The Huawei Mate 40 glass variant measures 158.6 x 72.5 x 8.8 mm and weighs 188 grams. The Mate 40 Leather model has dimensions of 158.6 x 72.5 x 9.2 mm and is slightly lighter at 184 grams.

The phone comes with 6.5-inch OLED display with 2376 x 1080 pixels resolution and offers 90Hz refresh rate. Powering its hardware is Huawei Kirin 9000E 5G octa-core (3.13GHz A77 x 1 + 2.54GHz A77 x 3 + 2.05GHz A55 x 4) processor which is paired with ARM Mali-G78 MP22 GPU and Big Core + Tiny Core NPU.

The Huawei Mate 40 specs include 8GB RAM and 128GB storage space. It has 4200mAh (typical) battery with 40W Huawei SuperCharge fast charging. It has 13MP front camera with F/2.4 Aperture. At the back side are 50MP (RYYB Ultra Vision, F/1.9, OIS) + 16MP (ultra-wide angle, F/2.2) + 8MP (telephoto, 3x Optical zoom, OIS) + Laser sensor and LED flash.

In terms of connectivity, the smartphone has support for 5G (SA/NSA), Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth V5.2 LE, GPS(L1+L5)/GLONASS/Beidou/NavIC), USB Type-C 3.1 Gen1 and 3.5mm Headphone jack. There are stereo speakers for audio.

The Huawei Mate 40 price is €899 ($1,063 / Rs. 78,320 approx.) and comes in Black, White, Mystic Silver, Green and Yellow colors. Availability details were not revealed.
