Huawei Mate Xs with Kirin 990 5G SoC, 8GB RAM, 512GB ROM unveiled

Huawei has just announced its latest Mate XS foldable smartphone. It has Falcon wing design with innovative hinge and houses side mounted fingerprint sensor.

When folded, you get a 6.6-inch screen with 2480 x 1148 pixels resolution. When you unfold Huawei Mate XS, one is greeted with 8-inch screen and offers 2480 x 2200 pixels resolution. There is a secondary 6.38-inch screen with 2480 x 892 pixels resolution.

The mobile boots on Android 10 based EMUI 10.0.1. It has intelligent multi-window function which divides 8-inch wide screen in two independent task interfaces. You can even open one App in 2 split windows to easily manage different tasks, which is possible thanks to Huawei App multiplier.

The Huawei Mate Xs specs include octa-core Kirin 990 5G SoC with 8GB RAM and 256GB ROM. The storage is further expandable using NM card. It has dual SIM slots and supports 5G / 4G / 3G / 2G bands.

To keep the handset cool, the smartphone houses Huawei’s innovative cooling system, which uses flexible bionic graphite to dissipate heat even when folded. The mobile houses Leica Quad camera system consisting of 40MP + 16MP + 8MP + ToF camera. These shooters also double up for front camera.

The handset also boasts large 4500mAh battery capacity and supports 55W fast charging. NFC is supported as well for secure payments.

The Huawei Mate Xs 8GB/512GB price is €2,499 and will start selling globally starting next month.
