Huawei has officially announced its latest foldable / flip smartphone in China called Huawei P50 Pocket.
Company has also introduced HUAWEI P50 Pocket Art Custom Edition that comes in Glit Gold shade. It comes in collaboration with Haute Couture designer Iris Van Herpen.
Huawei P50 Pocket specifications and features
The flip phone measures 170 x 5.5 x 7.2 mm and weighs 190 grams. When folded, the dimensions are 87.3 x 75.5 x 15.2 mm. The handset comes with side mounted fingerprint sensor for biometrics.
The Flip mechanism on P50 pocket uses multi-dimensional hinge reinforced with innovative materials that folds / unfold seamlessly. It unfold without and creasing and transforms a pocket size smartphone in to a full size mobile.
The Huawei P50 Pocket specs include 6.9-inch internal OLED display that offers 2790 x 1188 pixels resolution, up to 120Hz refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling rate, 1440Hz high frequency PWM dimming, 442ppi pixel density, DCI-P3 wide color gamut and 1.07-billion colors.
The smartphone has 1.04-inch External OLED display (round) that has 340 x 340 pixels resolution, 60Hz refresh rate, 120Hz touch sampling rate, 328ppi pixel density and 16.7-million colors.
Huawei has used octa-core (2.84GHz Cortex-X1 x 1 + 2.42GHz Cortex-A76 x 3 + 1.8GHz Cortex-A55 x 4) Snapdragon 888 4G mobile platform with Adreno 660 GPU and Qualcomm 6th Gen AI engine.
This flip phone from Huawei comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The P50 Pocket Art Custom Edition houses 12GB RAM and 512GB storage space. The global variant is powered by Android based EMUI 12. The Chinese model of P50 Pocket runs on HarmonyOS 2 out of the box.
The cell phone houses a 10.7MP front facing camera with F/2.2 Aperture. At the back side are triple cameras with LED Flash. These make up of 48MP (main True-Chroma, F/1.8), 13MP (ultra-wide, F/2.2) and 32MP (ultra-spectrum, F/1.8) cameras.
These camera uses 10-channel multi-spectrum sensor, Ultra spectrum illumination and AF lens to capture beauty in dark. It offers more vibrancy and sharpness thanks to Ultra Spectrum Camera Matrix. The Ultra-Spectrum camera has sunscreen detection as an added bonus.
The Huawei P50 Pocket feature a 4000mAh (typical) battery and supports 40W Huawei SuperCharge fast charging. It supports dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth V5.2 LE, dual band GPS/GLONASS/Beidou, NFC, USB 3.1 Type-C Gen1 and Type-C audio.
