HUAWEI, after unveiled P50 Pocket last year, has now taken wraps of its latest foldable smartphone called Pocket S. It has clamshell design the combines fashion with natural inspirations.
Available in Ice Crystal Blue, Frost Silver, Black, Minth Green, Pink and Primrose Gold colors, the Huawei Pocket S uses MIM steel materials for toughness. It features in world’s first SGS folding screen mobile phone durability certification.

Powered by HarmonyOS 3.0, the Pocket S feature in dual SIM slots with dual 4G VoLTE support. It has a side mounted fingerprint sensor for security.
The mobile itself measures 170 x 75.5 x 7.2 mm and weighs 190 grams. When unfolded, it has dimensions of 87.3 x 75.5 x 15.2 mm. This clamshell smartphone packs a 4000mAh (typical) battery and allows 40W Huawei SuperCharge fast charging.
The Huawei Pocket S feature in 6.9-inch main foldable OLED display that offers 2790 x 1188 pixels resolution. It has 120Hz refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling rate, 1440Hz PWM dimming, 1.07-billion colors and DCI-P3 colors. It has a secondary 1.04-inch AMOLED external display as well.
Powering inside this folding phone is octa-core Snapdragon 778G 4G mobile platform with Adreno 642L GPU. It has 8GB RAM and is offered in 128GB/256GB/512GB storage options. The Pocket S as NM card support up to 256GB as well.
For optics, a 10.7MP camera is placed at front with F/2.2 Aperture lens. At the back side are dual cameras which include 40MP main True-Chroma shooter with F/1.8 Aperture and 13MP ultra-wide lens with F/2.2 Aperture, 10-channel multi-spectral sensor and 2.5cm macro shots.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11ax, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth V5.2 LE, USB Type-C (with Type-C audio support), NFC and dual band GPS/GLONASS/Beidou.

- 8GB/256GB model: 6488 yuan (US$ 890 / Rs. 73,700 approx.)
- 8GB/512GB model: 7488 yuan (US$ 1028 / Rs. 85,060 approx.)
The smartphone is already up for order in China and will go on sale from November 10th. The top-end 512GB model will go on sale in December 2022.
