JioPhone Next with Android 11 Go Edition based Pragati OS unveiled

Reliance Jio has officially unveiled its first budget Android smartphone in India in partnership with Google. The handset is dubbed as JioPhone Next.

JioPhone Next specifications and features

It is a dual SIM smartphone with 4G VoLTE support. It has 5.45-inch display that offers 1440 x 720 pixels resolution. Its screen has anti-fingerprint coating and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top.

The Reliance JioPhone Next specs include 1.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 215 mobile platform with Adreno 308 GPU. It has 2GB RAM and 32GB built-in storage space. The mobile supports microSD card up to 512GB.

The cell phone houses an 8MP auto focus camera at front. At the back side is a single 13MP auto focus shooter with LED flash. The mobile houses a 3500mAh battery.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth V4.1, MicroUSB V2.0, GPS, FM Radio and 3.5mm audio jack. The JioPhone Next runs on Android 11 Go Edition based Pragati OS.

Pragati OS key features

The OS is made for users in India. It was designed by Jio and Google together. The OS has Read Aloud and Translate Now features that works through out the operating system.

It works with any text on phones screen (includes messages, webpages, apps, photos). The Pragati OS integrates Night Mode, HDR in camera and Snapchat Lenses directly into Camera Go app.

To minimize language barrier, the handset has a button which translates on screen text and read it back in users own language. The OS offers several new features in OTA update.

Price and availability

Without any financing, the JioPhone Next is priced at Rs. 6499. It is also available on EMI starting at Rs. 1999. There is a Rs. 501 processing fee attached.

The mobile will go on sale in India from November 4th. It will land at JioMart Digital Network of more than 30000 retail partners, Jio offline store and Jio.com.
