Lenovo has launched three new Chromebooks with its models being called 100e, 300e and 500e. All three of them mainly for educational purposes.
These Chromebooks are highly under powered when compared to traditional Windows 10 Laptops, but they sure do their job. From the lot, the Lenovo 100e falls in budget segment. The 300e is a mid-ranger while 500e is most premium of the three.
The 100E is priced at US$ 219 and launches later this month. The 300e costs slightly higher at $279 and will launch in February 2018. The 500e carries the highest price-tag of $349 and will launch in January 2018 itself.
Talking about specifications, all three Chromebooks complies with MIL-STD-810G testing. They are drop resistant from up to 29.5 inches, which roughly the height of usual school desks. They run on Chrome OS.
The 100e comes with 180-degree hinge that can sustain some pressure. The Lenovo 300e and 500e are equipped with 360-degree hinge. They also feature in rubber bumpers and reinforced ports for added durability. The Lenovo 100e measures 290 x 204 x 19.9 mm and weighs about 1.25 kg. It has 11.6-inch anti-glare display with 1366 x 768 pixels resolution. It is powered by Intel Celeron N3350 processor, Intel Integrated Graphics, 4GB LPDDR4 RAM and 32GB eMMC storage. It has 720p HD Camera (with Mic) and 42Whr battery that should last you about 10 hours. It supports Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2×2), Bluetooth V4.1, 2 x USB-C, 2 x USB 3.0, MicroSD slot and Audio Combo jack. The Lenovo 300e features in 11.6-inch IPS 10-point multi-touch display with 1366 x 768 pixels resolution. It has MediaTek MTK 8173 SoC with its own Integrated Graphics, 4GB LPDDR3 RAM, 32GB eMMC ROM and 45Whr battery. The device measures 292 x 204 x 21.2 mm and weighs 1.35 Kg. It supports Wi-Fi 802.11 AC 2×2, Bluetooth V4.0, 1 x USB-C, 1 x USB 3.0, HDMI, SD card reader and Audio Combo jack. The Lenovo 500e specs include 11.6-inch display, which is an IPS panel. It offers 1366 x 768 pixels resolution and supports 10-finger multi-touch. It is powered by quad-core Intel Celeron N3450 processor, Intel Integrated Graphics and has options of 4GB / 8GB LPDDR4 RAM with 32GB / 64GB eMMC storage. It has HD front camera with microphone and 5MP word-facing shooter as well. It is powered by 42 Whr battery which offers about 10 hours battery backup. The device measures 290 x 204 x 20.35 mm and weighs 1.35Kg.Usual connectivity options like Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2×2), Bluetooth V4.1, 2 x USB-C, 2 x USB 3.0, MicroSD card reader and Audio combo jack are supported.
