LG G7 ThinQ with SD845, 16MP dual rear cameras, AI announced

LG has just announced its latest flagship phone called G7 ThinQ. It was unveiled at an event in New York.
The phone is IP68 rated for water and dust resistance. It also complies with MIL-STD 810G which provides added ruggedness. It has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection at the back as well.
The smartphone measures 153.2 x 71.9 x 7.9 mm and weighs 162 grams. It has polished metal rim and comes with dedicated Google Assistant button. Moreover, it also houses Super Far Field Voice Recognition allowing the assistant to hear your voice from anywhere in the room.
LG G7 ThinQ image 7For optimum sound, the LG G7 ThinQ features in Boombox speaker which makes use of internal space as a resonance chamber for delivering double bass effect. The DTS:X delivers Virtual 3D sound while its Hi-Fi Quad DAC further enhances the audio.
In terms of specifications of LG G7 ThinQ, it has 6.1-inch FullVision Super Bright IPS display with 3120 x 1440 pixels resolution. It has 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 1000nits brightness, delivers 100% DCI-P3 color gamut and 564ppi pixel density. There is a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the screen as well. Talking more about the screen, it has six different viewing modes namely Auto, Eco, Cinema, Sports, Game and Expert.
The cell phone runs on Android 8.0 Oreo OS out  of the box. It has fingerprint sensor at the back for quick unlocking. Moreover, the device also supports Face Recognition. It has decent 3000 mAh battery capacity and also supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 and Wireless charging.
The LG G7 ThinQ specs also include octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform with Adreno 630 GPU. Company has introduced two models of the smartphone. The G7 ThinQ houses 4GB LPDDR4X RAM with 64GB UFS 3.1 storage while the G7 ThinQ+ features in 6GB LPDDR4X RAM with 128GB UFS 3.1 storage. Both the variants allow further expansion up to 2TB using MicroSD card.
In terms of optics, the phone features in 8MP front facing selfie shooter with F/1.9 Aperture and 80-degree wide angle lens. It has AI CAM which offers 19 different shooting modes. This is achieved by unique AI algorithm that combines pixel binning and software processing. It also comes with stickers that uses Face recognition to generate 2D or 3D overlays. The Live Photo mode records a second before and after the shutter is pressed to capture candid moments.
LG has managed to include two rear cameras with LED flash. The primary 16MP rear camera comes with F/1.6 Aperture and 71-degree wide angle lens. The secondary rear camera is also a 16MP snapper but comes with 107-degree wide angle lens and F/1.9 Aperture. The standard and Super bright camera offers 4X brighter photos in dim light. Their combination captures landscapes with less edge distortion.
Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth V5.1 BLE, NFC, UFC Type-C 2.0 (compatible with 3.1) etc.
The LG G7 ThinQ will initially roll out in South Korea in coming days followed by major markets in North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia. Both G7 ThinQ and G7 ThinQ+ comes in New Platinum Gray, New Aurora Black, New Moroccan Blue and Raspberry Rose colors. Pricing and Availability details will be announced locally at the time of availability.
