LG Electronics has officially unveiled its new 2021 LG TONE Free FP Series earbuds. The lineup includes FP9, FP8 and FP5 models.
The LG TONE Free FP 2021 lineup of earbuds are aimed aimed at those with active, high energy lifestyles. They offer comfortable in-ear fitting, advanced Meridian-tuned sound, powerful Active Noise Cancellation and Hygiene boosting UVnano charging case (not in FP5 model).
All the TONE Free FP models are IPX4 rated for water and sweat resistance. LG has teamed up with leading ergonomic design technology lap to develop Arc Design with an earbud stem 4.4mm shorter than its previous models.
The LG TONE Free FP9, TONE Free FP8 and TONE Free FP5 leverages headphone Spatial processing from Meridian Audio. Additionally, these have 3D Sound Stage, which expands the sound stage via spatial up-mixing to offer life like audio.
These have larger, upgraded drivers and diaphragms featuring silicone edging for more flexibility and movement. This results in to more powerful bass without compromising on clarity or detail.
The 2021 TONE Free FP series offer better calling thanks to three microphones. These have new Whispering Mode for better call privacy and clarity. It is done by allowing users to hold the right earbud close to mouth as a dedicated microphone.
The FP9 and FP8 models have auto-cleaning UVnano charging cases that keeps eartips clean. The cases have UV-C LED built-in inside TONE Free cases and are tested to reduce bacteria on earbuds speaker mesh by 99.9% in just 5 minutes. Additionally, both of these models have have medical-grade, hypoallergic ear gels to reduce risk of skin irritations in ear canal.
Active noise cancelling on both new TONE Free earbuds eliminate low-frequency sounds that can’t be completely blocked by the passive noise cancellation eartips. The mic on earbuds listen to ambient noises and neutralize them by producing identical sound waves that are inaudible to the listener.
All three earbuds quickly and easily pair with range of devices including Windows PCs and laptops. The FP9 has Plug & Wireless which enables charging case to double as wireless dongle. Additionally, case can easily plug with smartphone, gaming consoles or other compatible devices using USB Type-C to AUX cable to deliver low latency sound.
With ANC off, FP9 and FP8 models deliver up to 24 hours of total battery life, with earbuds offering up to 10 hours. The FP5 model delivers up to 8 hours battery with each earbud and up to 22 hours total with case. Wireless charging is supported only by FP8 model. With quick charge of 5 minutes inside case delivers 1 hours of listening.
The new LG TONE Free FP series will be available starting this month in key markets in a range of sophisticated colors such as Charcoal Black, Pearl White with FP8 and FP9 also offered in Haze Gold.
The LG TONE-TFP5 price is set at 169,000 won (US$ 146 / Rs. 10,900 approx.) while TONE-TFP8 price goes at 219,000 won (US$ 189 / Rs. 14,120 approx.). The flagship LG TONE-TFP9 costs 249,000 won (US$ 215 / Rs. 16,050 approx.).
