LG Electronics has announced its latest rugged smartphone called X Venture. It is company’s second X Series smartphone after just after X Power2.
The mobile is IP68 rated for water and dust resistance. Moreover, It also passes 14 different MIL-STD 810G tests that are specially designed for U.S. Military. It can sustain extreme temperatures, extreme elements, shocks and easily sustain 1.5 meter water depth for up to 30 minutes.
The smartphone comes pre-installed with Android 7.0 Nougat OS. It also features in unique Outdoor Essentials application that has six useful tools built-in. Bundled in the active lifestyle app is a barometer, compass, activity counter (steps/calories/distance), exercise tracker, weather reporter and flashlight.
The Quick button can work differently depending on how it is pressed. A short press will open Outdoor Essentials, long press for settings and double press to toggle Glove mode. This button is also customizable allowing one to launch a dedicated app. Additionally, the handset can also work in wet or muddy environments.
The LG X Venture comes in Brown and Black color options. It will be available in North America starting today itself. This rugged mobile phone will also land in parts of Europe, Asia, Africa, Middle East and Latin America in coming weeks. Pricing and Availability details will be announced locally in their respective markets.
The X Venture will be available in US at AT&T for $11 a month for 30 months, which sums up to $330 for outright purchase.
