MediaTek has officially announced its latest Dimensity 5G SoC dubbed at Dimensity 1000C. It is specially catered for US markets and features inside T-Mobile’s LG VELVET smartphone.
The MediaTek Dimensity 1000C SoC is based on 7nm process technology and houses four Cortex-A77 cores clocked at 2GHz and four power-efficient Cortex-A55 cores at clock speeds of 2GHz. It also includes MediaTek AI Processing Unit (APU 3.0) which is combination of three different types of AI processors.
The Dimensity 1000C chipste allows Dual Voice Wake Up (VoW) function which reduces power consumption of always-on apps like Google Assistant. It has AV1 HDR for Netflix and supports AV1 video streaming on YouTube as well.
The SoC supports up to 12GB RAM (1866MHz) and UFS 2.2 class storage. It can also handle single 64MP shooter or dual 32MP + 16MP snappers. Displays with up to 2520 x 1080 pixels FHD+ resolution and up to 120Hz refresh rate are supported as well.
