MediaTek Helio X23 and Helio X27 Deca-Core SoC’s announced

MediaTek expands its Helio X20 Processor family with Helio X23 and Helio X27 processor. The are successors to Helio X20 and Helio X25 SoC’s.
Both the processors brings improvements in overall performance, power consumption and camera quality. The Helio X23 and Helio X27 features in MediaTek Tri-Cluster Deca-Core architecture consisting of 2x Cortex A72 + 4x Cortex A53 + 4x Cortex A53 cores. It also makes use of MediaTek CorePilot 3.0 technology as well.
Helio X23 features clock speeds of (2.3GHz A72 x 2 + 1.85GHz A53 x 4 + 1.4GHz A53 x 4) and comes with ARM Mali-T880 MP4 780MHz GPU.
The Helio X27 on the other hand operates at (2.6GHz A72 x 2 + 2GHz A53 x 4 + 1.6GHz A53 x 4) speeds and houses ARM Mali-T880 MP4 875MHz GPU.
Both of these newly launched MediaTek processors offers up to 20% overall processing improvement. They also bring significant increases in Web browsing and application launching speeds. This is made possible due to MediaTek-engineered advancements in CPU/GPU heterogeneous computing scheduling algorithm.
Both the processors are made using 20nm process. They support 2X LPDDR3 POP 800MHz (up to 4GB) memory. Both the SoC’s can handle WQXGA 2560 x 1600 pixels resolution at 60 fps and 1920 x 1080 pixels at 120 fps with 12HZ Blending layers. Energy smart screen is also supported in both the processors.
Apart from this, MediaTek Helio X23 and Helio X27 full supports Dual Camera photography with its upgraded Imagiq image signal-processing solution. The Imagiq ISP is first of its kind to integrate color and mono camera and depth-of-field applications into a single ISP. Both the SoC delivers improved image clarity, saturation, exposure control etc.
Both the MediaTek Processors come with LTE Modem delivering Cat6 speeds of 300/50 Mbps. They have Integrated Wi-Fi 802.11ac with throughput of up to 280Mbps, supports GPS/GLONASS/Beidou, BT/FM etc.
The MediaTek Helio X27 and Helio X23 have MiraVision EnergySmart Screen power saving technology which brings about 25% reduction in display’s power consumption. They have Envelope Tracking Module that provides additional power efficiency by up to 15%.
Smartphones powered by X23 and X27 chipsets will be available soon.
