MediaTek MT2621 launched for Smart trackers, Wearables and IoT security apps

MediaTek has launched a new chipset called MT2621. It has highly integrated design and connectivity platform is specially meant for smart trackers, wearables, IoT security, smart metering and industrial applications.
It is a dual-mode IoT SoC which is capable of both NB-IoT R14 and GSM/GPRS connectivity. It supports a single SIM along with antenna that covers both cellular networks, with added dual standby functionality (SSDS).
It’s simplified design allows a single UICC and mobile number for both networks, even while operating simultaneously, thus saving PCB Space and minimizing its cost.
The SoC sports wideband front-end module, specially designed to support ultra-low/low/mid bandsdefined by the 3GPP Rel-14 (including quad-band operation).
The MediaTek MT2621 features in a single power-efficient ARMv7 CPU with 26MHz frequency. It has 160KB + 4MB embedded memory. Applications can be built using an easily customizable Linux based OS.
It also comes with LCM, Camera and audio AMP interfaces, providing additional support for sight and sound devices. It also includes Bluetooth V4.2 that enables low wireless peripherals connectivity.
