MediaTek MT9602 SoC for Smart TV with AI unveiled

MediaTek has unveiled a new chipset for smart TV’s called MediaTek MT9602. It is an AI-enabled Smart TV SoC which will power Motrola’s upcoming Smart TV lineup.

The MT9602 chipset has 1.5GHz quad-core Cortex-A53 processor with ARM Mali-G52 MC1 GPU. It has built-in AI-enhancement technologies like AI-PQ (picture quality) and AI-AQ (audio quality) which optimizes picture and audio quality in real time.

The chipset supports three HDMI 2.1a compliant ports, AV1 and AVS2 decoding, Dolby Atmos surround sound, Dolby Vision HDR, HDR10+, HLG, BBC and more.

The MT9602 SoC from MediaTek supports up up to 2GB memory. It also handles up to 3840 x 2160 pixels resolution at 60Hz refresh rate.

The MediaTek MT9602 SoC will feature in Motorola Smart TV’s powered by Android 10. These are slated to launch on October 9th at Flipkart.
