Moto G5S and Moto G5s Plus unveiled with improved cameras

Motorola introduced its G5 and G5 Plus smartphones back at MWC 2017. Now, company has introduced upgraded versions of both smartphones and they are calling it Moto G5S and G5S Plus.
Both of them feature an all-metal unibody design, which is crafted from a single piece of high grade aluminum. They come with fingerprint sensor which is embedded under home button.

Moto G5S (XT1793, XT1794)

The has 5.2-inch multi-touch display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution. It has 424ppi pixel density and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
It has the same 1.4GHz octa-core Snapdragon 430 SoC with Adreno 505 GPU (450MHz) and is backed by 3GB RAM.
There is a 32GB internal memory and a hybrid Dual-SIM slots of which one them converts for MicroSD. It allows further expansion up to 128GB.
The Moto G5S specs include an improved 16MP shooter at the back with F/2.0 Aperture and LED Flash. It can record 1080p videos. It also supports PDAF, 8X digital Zoom for photos, 4X for videos and Auto HDR.
A 5MP camera sits at the front with F/2.0 Aperture lens. It can take wide angle selfies. There is a front LED Flash that allows one to take selfies even in dark.
Battery has been upgraded to 3000 mAh capacity. With is TurboPower battery, it can offer 5 hours of usage with 15 minuts of charging.
The handset runs on Android 7.1 Nougat OS. It measures 150 x 73.5 x 8.2 ~ 9.5 mm and weighs about 157 grams. Connectivity options include 4G LTE (Cat4), Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth V4.2, GPS/A-GPS/GLONASS etc.
This Speical Edition of Moto G5S is priced at €249 and comes in Fine Gold and Lunar Grey color options.

Moto G5S Plus (XT1803, XT1805)

This is a premium variant featuring in a 5.5-inch screen with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution. It has 401ppi pixel density and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Yes, muilti-touch is also supported.
Internal hardwares are almost the same as predecessor. They include a 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC with 650MHz Adreno 506 GPU. It has 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage and allows further expansion up to 128GB.
The battery is still the same as G5S which is 3000 mAh capacity. It also comes with TurboPower charger that is claimed to give 6 hours of battery with just 15 minutes of charging.
The Moto G5S Plus gets notable upgrade in camera department. It comes with Dual 13MP cameras with Color Balance Dual LED Flash. These cameras are horizontally placed and comes with F/2.0 lens. It has improved image processing and comes with portrait mode. Moreover, it can also shoot 4K videos.
An 8MP snapper sits on the front side with F/2.2 Aperture lens. It has Wide-angle lens as well. There are 2 Microphones and a lower speaker.
The Smartphone has dimensions of 153.5 x 76.2 x 8.0 ~ 9.5 mm and weighs about 168 grams. It has Water repellent coating as well. Connectivity wise, it supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth V4.1 LE, GPS/A-GPS/GLONASS, NFC etc.
The Moto G5S Plus is priced at €299.99 and comes in Lunar Grey and Fine Gold colors. It will start shipping on August 18th.
