Moto Z2 Play with Moto Mods announced

Motorola has announced its latest smartphone called Moto Z2 Play. It is a mid-range smartphone running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS.
The handset measures 156.2 x 76.2 x 5.99 mm, weighs 145 grams and has Water repellent nano-coating. It has uni-body metal design and supports Moto Mods, just like its predecessors.
At this occasion, Motorola also introduced new JBL SoundBoost 2 Mod (US$ 79.99), which has fabric body with water-repellent coating and offers up to 10 hours of additional playtime.
JBL-SoundBoost-2-and-Moto-TurboPower-Pack-image-1There is a new TurboPower Mod (US$ 79.99) as well, offering 15W fast charging. It comes with a button and LED indicators on the back side and is claimed to charge phone up to 50% in 20 minutes.
This handset also supports Moto Gamepad Mod (US$ 79.99). It is specially aimed at hardcore gamers and adds physical gaming buttons. Additionally, different Moto Style Shells (US$ 39.99) are also available with up to 10W wireless charging support.
Coming to the specifications of Moto Z2 Play, it has 5.5-Inch Super AMOLED display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution, 401ppi pixel density and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection for scratch resistance.
As expected, it is powered by 2.2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 processor with Adreno 506 GPU. Its 3GB LPDDR3 RAM model has 32GB storage while the 4GB LPDDR3 RAM variant comes with 64GB internal memory. MicroSD card up to 2TB will be support for further expansion.
A fingerprint sensor sits under the home button for added security. There is a 3000 mAh battery with TurboPower charging (8 hours use in 15 minutes / 50% in 30 minutes) support.
The Moto Z2 Play specs also include 5MP front camera with dual  LED Flash (CCT), 1.4µm pixels, wide-angle lens, Auto Night mode, Professional mode and records 1080p videos at 30 fps. On the back side is 12MP primary camera with 1.4µm Dual AutoFocus pixel, F/1.7 aperture, Laser AF (up to 5 meter), PDAF, dual LED Flash (CCT) and up to 4K video recording at 30 fps.
The mobile phone comes in single / dual SIM options. It has front ported loud speaker and 3 microphones. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth V4.2 LE, GPS, USB 3.1 Type-C, NFC, GPS/GLONASS, 3.5mm headset port etc.
The cell phone also houses array of sensors like Accelerometer, Ambient Light, Gyroscope, Magnetometer, Proximity and Ultrasonic sensors.
The Moto Z2 PLay price starts at $499 (Rs. 32,135) in  US and will be available at Verizon and Motorola.com later this summer. The mobile will start selling in Brazil starting today for R$ 1,999 (US$ 616 / Rs. 39,730). Global roll out begins in June itself. The handset comes in Fine Gold, Nimbus Blue and Lunar Gray color options.
