Apple has refreshed its MacBook Air 2020. It comes with new Magic Keyboard which sports redesigned scissor mechanism for 1mm key travel and comfortable typing experience. It also includes Touch ID and Force Touch trackpad.
It has 13.3-inch True Tone IPS Retina display with up to 2560 x 1600 pixels resolution at 277ppi pixel density. It comes with MacOS Catalina out of the box.
Depending on the variant, you can either configure it with 1.1GHz dual-core Intel Core i3 OR 1.1Ghz quad-core Intel Core i5 OR 1.2GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor. These will have Intel Iris Plus Graphics.
The new Apple MacBook Air 2020 comes with 8GB LPDDR4X memory (3733MHz, Configurable up to 16GB) and will be offered in 256GB / 512GB / 1TB / 2TB storage (PCIe based SSD) options.
It includes 49.9Wh lithium-polymer battery and comes with 30W USB-C Power Adapter. The battery is claimed to offer up to 11 hours of wireless web or up to 12 hours of Appl e TV App movie playback or up to 30 days of standby.
The new Apple MacBook Air comes with stereo speakers with support for Dolby Atmos and delivers wide stereo sound. It also includes 3-mic array with directional beamforming and 3.5mm audio jack.
In terms of connectivity, there are two Thunderbolt 3 ports, Display Port, Thunderbolt port with up to 40GB/s and USB 3.1 Gen2 port. There is support for Wi-Fi 802.11ac Dual Band and Bluetooth V5.0 as well.
The New MacBook Air colors include Space Gray, Silver and Gold shades. The i3/256GB variant price starts at Rs. 92990 while its i3/256GB model price in US starts at $999 and its i5/512GB mode price starts at $1299.
