Oppo has a new A Series smartphone for Indian markets called as Oppo A16e (Model: CPH2421). It comes in Midnight Black, White and Blue color options.

It is a dual SIM smartphone with dimensions of 164.0 x 75.4 x 7.85 mm and weighs 175 grams. It comes in two options – 3GB LPDDR4X (1600MHz 2 x 16 bits) RAM with 32GB eMMC 5.1 storage and 4GB LPDDR4X (1600MHz 2 x 16 bits) RAM with 64GB eMMC 5.1 storage space. The handset does support microSD card up to 1TB.
The OPPO A16e specs include 6.52-inch LCD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It offers 1600 x 720 pixels HD+ resolution at 20:9 aspect ratio, 60Hz refresh rate, 60Hz touch sampling rate, 269ppi pixel density, 1500:1 (typ) contrast ratio, 480nits (typ) brightness and 89.27% screen-to-body ratio.
Powering inside is a 2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P22 processor with IMG GE8320 GPU (650MHz). The mobile comes with a 5MP front camera with 76° FOV, F/2.4 Aperture, 3P Lens and 1080p video recording support (@30fps). At the back side is a single 13MP camera with 80° FOV, F/2.2 Aperture, 5P lens, Auto Focus and 1080p video recording (30fps).
The Oppo A16e comes with 4100mAh (min) / 4230mAh (typical) battery. There is no fingerprint sensor however, face unlocking is supported. Sensor lineup includes Geomagnetic, Light, Proximity, Acceleration and Gravity.
The smartphone runs on Android 11 based ColorOS 11.1. It has support for dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), Wi-Fi Display, Bluetooth V5.0, MicroUSB V2.0, GPS/A-GPS/Beidou/GLONASS/Beidou and 3.5mm audio jack.
Price and availability
According to leaks, the Oppo A16e price for 3GB/32GB model will be Rs. 9,990 ($131) while the 4GB/64GB variant will cost Rs. 11,990 ($157) in India. Oppo has yet to reveal exact dates of availability.
