Oppo A53 5G smartphone with Dimensity 720 SoC unveiled

Oppo expands its A Series lineup with a new budget 5G smartphone called Oppo A53 5G. Notably, it is different from Oppo A53 4G handset which was unveiled earlier in August.

The Oppo A53 5G offers support for 5G (SA/NSA) and Dual 4G VoLTE. It comes with side facing fingerprint sensor and is powered by Android 10 based ColorOS 7.2.

The handset is 7.9 mm thick and houses 4040 mAh battery capacity with 10W charging support. Its battery is claimed to offer up to 11 hours of online video time or about 7 hours of gameplay.

The Oppo A53 5G specs include 6.5-inch LTPS LCD display with FHD+ resolution. The screen delivers 90Hz refresh rate and 120Hz touch sampling rates. Its slim bezels results into a 90.5% screen-to-body ratio.

The mobile gets processing done by Octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 720 SoC. There are two variants of Oppo A53 5G, one with 4GB RAM and other with 6GB RAM. These have 128GB built-in storage space which is non expandable.

Optics are handled by 8MP front camera coupled with triple shooters at back with LED Flash. They include 16MP (main) + 2MP (macro) + 2MP (depth) shooters.

Oppo A53 5G specifications

The Oppo A53 price starts 1299 Yuan ($198 / EUR162 / Rs. 14,610 approx.). It comes in Night Black, Streamer Purple and Lake Green colors. The handset is already up for pre-sale in China.
