Oppo A8 launches with 6.5-inch HD+ display, triple rear cameras

Oppo has unveiled its new A Series smartphone in China called Oppo A8. It has a rear facing fingerprint sensor, houses dual SIM slots and supports Dual 4G VoLTE.

The Oppo A8 specs include 6.5-inch IPS LCD display with 1600 x 720 pixels resolution at 20;90 aspect ratio. It also comes with special Eye protection mode for protection against blue light. The handset also boasts 89% screen-to-body ratio and supports multi-touch.

Under the hood is an octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 processor with PowerVR GE8320 GPU. You also get 4GB RAM and 128GB ROM which is further expandable using MicroSD Card. The smartphone also comes pre-installed with Android Pie based Color OS 6.1.

The Oppo A8 features in a triple camera setup at the back with LED flash. It has 12MP primary rear camera, 2MP secondary macro lens and 2MP depth sensor at the back. Selfies are handled by an 8MP front shooter.

The mobile housed 4230mAh battery which is claimed to offer about 7 hours of online gaming or 14 hours of online video playback. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual band (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth V4.2, MicroUSB V2.0 GPS and 3.5mm Audio Jack.

The Oppo A8 price is 1199 Yuan (US$ 171 / Rs. 12,170 approx.) and comes with Azure and Secret Night black colors. The handset is already up for registration in China and will start selling from December 26th.
