Oppo Find N foldable phone with dual displays, Flexion Hinge announced

Oppo has officially unveiled its first foldable smartphone called FIND N. It was introduced during 2nd day of INNO Day 2021 event.

Oppo Find N Specifications and features

When the smartphone is in folding state, it measures 132.6 x 73 x 15.9 mm. The total weight of handset is about 275 grams. It has side mounted fingerprint sensor for secure unlocking.

The OPPO Find N feature in Flexion Hinge which is made up of 136 different components. It ensures a precision of 0.01mm for smoothness. Its water drop hinge design widens the folding angle of display to minimize crease by up to 80% when compared to other similar devices (notes TUV).

The Find N specs include 7.1-inch main display offering 1920 x 1792 pixels resolution (WUSXGA) at 8.4:9 aspect ratio. It has 1 to 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 100% DCI-P3 colors, 100% sRGB color gamut, 370ppi pixel density and offers up to 1000nits brightness. Its screen has SCHOTT UTG glass protection on top.

The primary inner display has 12-layer Serene screen that gives much needed protection and durability. It works with Flexion Hinge and sports 0.03mm layer of Flexion UTG (ultra-thin glass).

The outer display on this folding OPPO smartphone is of 5.49-inch size and offers 1972 x 988 pixels resolution at 18:9 aspect ratio. It has 60Hz refresh rate, 402ppi pixel density, 100% DCI-P3 colors, 100% sRGB color gamut and up to 1000nits brightness. Oppo has included Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection on top. Combination of both screens offer 10240 levels of automatic brightness.

The cell phone runs on Android 11 based ColorOS 12. The primary 7.1-inch Serene display offers 60% larger visuals when compared to a 6.5-inch screen. When unfolded, it delivers tablet like experience with innovative features like side-by-side multi-tasking.

With OPPO’s new swipe gestures, users can swipe two fingers at center to switch screen to half or turn a full-screen window into a floating window by pinching with four fingers.

Other specifications of Oppo Find N include octa-core Snapdragon 888 mobile platform, paired with 8GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage space. The top-end model of Find N comes with 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB UFS 2.1 storage space.

The smartphone comes with 32MP (Inner / outer) camera, which uses Sony IMX615 sensor with F/2.4 Aperture. At the back side are triple cameras with LED Flash. These include 50MP (main wide-angle, Sony IMX766, F/1.6, OIS), 16MP (123-degree ultra-wide, F/2.2) and 13MP (telephoto, Sony S5K3M5 sensor, F/2.4, 2x Zoom) cameras. The handset is more than capable to take 4K videos at 60fps.

The Oppo Find N battery is rated at 4500mAh capacity and supports 33W SuperVOOC flash charging. It can go from 0 to 50% in 30 minutes and 100% in just about 70 minutes. Additionally, it has support for AIRVOOC wireless charging and 10W reverse charging.

Connectivity options include 5G (SA/NSA) / 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth V5.2, USB Type-C, dual Band GPS/GLONASS/Beidou/Galileo/QZSS and NFC.

For audio, there are stereo speakers with Dolby ATMOS. There is no 3.5mm audio jack so users will have to suffice with USB Type-C audio.

Price and Availability

The Oppo Find N comes in Black, White and Purple colors. It will go on sale in China from December 23rd.
