Qualcomm QCC3026 Bluetooth Audio SoC announced

Qualcomm has announced QCC3026,  a new Low Power Bluetooth SoC with for entry-level and mid-range headsets. It is about 50% power efficient than its previous chipsets of entry-level flash devices.  The SoC is already powering Oppo O-Free, which was introduced today.
The Qualcomm QC3026 SoC offers a truly wireless listening experiences as it leverages Qualcomm TrueWireless Stereo protocols. It suppresses background noise and echos with Qualcomm’s cVc Noise Cancellation Technology (up to 2-mic HS cVc).
The chip houses an improved radio and are designed to deliver a robust overall wireless connectivity (handset to earbud and between earbuds).  It also delivers balanced power between earbuds, thus lowering overall power consumption (<6 mA).
The Qualcomm QC3026 features in up to 32MHz 32-bit processor application subsystem, which is a Programmable Apps CPU. It has WLCSP type package with 81 pins (9 x 9), 0.4mm pitch and size of 3.98 x 4.02 x 0.5 mm.
It has 80kB (P) + 256kB (D) DSP RAM and uses 1x Qualcomm Kalimba DSP (120MHz clock speed) which is configurable. In terms of Audio Technology, it has Qualcomm Broadcast Audio, Qualcomm TrueWireless Stereo / Stereo Plus and Qualcomm aptX.
The QC3026 also comes with Bluetooth V5.0 LE and is capable of 2Mbps speeds. Qualcomm has also pitched in button-pressed Voice Assistant Services, which relies on audio stream and voice control capabilities to process and execute commands.
Reference designs for Qualcomm QCC3026 SoC are expected to be available in H2 2018.

Consumers are eager for earbuds they can use all day, when they are at home, in the office or out and about without constantly needing to recharge. This latest addition to our portfolio is a very robust and cost-effective true wireless solution that is optimized for both superior sound quality and pricing value, and will allow our customers to put this exciting technology in the reach of millions of more buyers
We were early leaders in the development of true wireless technology and we continue to drive exciting innovation across our audio portfolio that meets the needs of this rapidly evolving and growing segment. Putting so much technology into such a small form factor is a big technology challenge and with this differentiated new offering we are helping even non-traditional Bluetooth wireless headphone customers, like mobile phone manufacturers, to rapidly add valued accessories to their product line ups.
