Qualcomm QCS400 SoCs with integrated AI unveiled for Smart Speaker Platform

Qualcomm has unveiled its new QCS400 SoC which is specially designed for “Smarter” Speakers, Soundbars, Home Assistants and AV Receivers.  The series includes QCS403, QCS404, QCS405 and QCS407
The QCS400 SoCs offer evolved premium audio experience across home. It not only integrates high performance processing but includes Qualcomm Artificial Intelligence (AI Engine). Additionally, it has dual DSPs and up to four processor cores  (Quad-Cores with Adreno GPU) specially engineered for audio applications.
This single chip architecture is power optimized and offers and offers multiple advanced audio and visual display capabilities without negotiating in to connectivity department. Moreover, the chipset has Qualcomm Hexagon DSP with Hexagon Vector eXtenstions. The AI Engine supports myriad neural network frameworks including Tensorflow, PyTorch and ONNX as well as Qualcomm Neural Processing SD for easily executing AI algorithms.

It has AI-based local automatic speech recognition, multi-keyword far-field voice pickup with beam forming and echo cancellation. It also supports cloud based voice assistants.
The SoC also uses Dolby advancements in sound technology. For instance, Dolby Atmos is designed to deliver impressive clarity, richness, detail and depth. The Chip allows OEM to easily integrate Dolby Atmos and DTS:X in to premium sound bars and Audio-video receivers.
The QCS400 offers up to 32 channels of integrated audio processing and is compatible with Qualcomm “DDFA” amplifier technology and aptX Audio. It has on-board connectivity features that supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for Qualcomm aptX for low latency audio streaming. The Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Zigbee coexistence is designed to allow control of virtually all types of smart home devices.
