Razer, as expected, has announced its latest Android smartphone called Razer Phone. It’s specifications are at par with a recent online listing.
Earlier this year, Razer acquired Nextbit, the company behind Robin smartphone. We can see its traces in the Razer phone. The handset has dimensions of 158.5 x 77.7 x 8 mm and weighs 197 grams. It has an aluminum body that is slim and durable.
The phone house a fingerprint sensor, which is placed at the side, under power button. It runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS out of the box. It is also upgradable to Android Oreo in Q1 2018. The handset ships with Nova Launcher Prime Razer Edition.
In terms of specifications, the cell phone packs in 5.72-inch IGZO LCD screen, which is a new UltraMotion display capable of deliver 120Hz refresh rate and wide color gamut. Basically, the technology synchronizes display and GPU to remove lag or tearing. The display delivers 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protections.
Talking about cameras, it has dual rear cameras with dual LED Flash. It consists of 12MP AF camera with F/1.75 aperture and wide angle lens. The second one is 13MP AF snapper for F/2.6 Aperture and Zoom LED. PDAF and 4K video recording is also supported. The smartphone also sports an 8MP front facing camera (Fixed Focus) with F/2.0 Aperture.
Razer is known for gaming products and this newly launched Razer Phone is also termed as a gaming smartphone. Company has partnered with several game developers like Square Enix, Tencent etc. to bring their most sort out games and optimizing them for 120fps screens.
The Razer Phone price is set at US$ 699.99 / €749.99 / £699.99 (Rs. 59,950 approx.). It will go on sale in North America and Europe from November 17th. Pre-orders starts from Friday in US and Canada. Razer is also offering 1337 units of Razer Phone Special Edition which has green triple-headed snake logo. You can buy Razer phone at Microsoft Store (in US and Canada) and Three in the UK.
