Redmi 7A finally goes official [updated]

Earlier this month Xiaomi Redmi 7A got certified by TENAA. Now, company has officially announced the smartphone in China.

It has polycarbonate body and P2i nano coating for splash resistance. The device measurements are 146.30 x 70.41 x 9.55 mm and has weight of 150 grams.

The Redmi 7A runs on Android 9.0 Pie with MIUI 10 on top. It includes a minimalist mode for elders, which has larger than usual icons and simplified UI. The OS also includes Family Guardian app with SOS emergency help feature.

The phone packs in a 5.45-inch multi-touch 2.5D curved glass display with 1440 x 720 pixels HD+ resolution at 18:9 aspect ratio. Talking about internals, it has octa-core (1.95GHz A53 x 4 + 1.45GHz A53 x 4) Snapdragon 439 SoC with Adreno 505 GPU.

The Xiaomi Redmi 7A specs include 2GB RAM with 16GB storage and 3GB RAM with 32GB storage options. It has MicroSD card support for further expansion up to 256GB.

The smartphone houses Dual Nano SIM slots and supports Dual 4G VoLTE. It is powered by 4000 mAh (typical) / 3900 mAh (minimum) battery which supports 5V/2A 10W charging.

The Redmi 7A feature in a single 13MP rear camera with LED Flash and supports PDAF, AI scene detection. At the front side is 5MP shooter for selfies. Connectivity wise, it has Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth V5.0, GPS, FM Radio (wireless) and 3.5mm Audio jack.

The Xiaomi Redmi 7A comes in Blue and Black colors. Pricing and availability details will be out on May 28th along side Redmi K20 smartphone.

The Redmi 7A 16GB variant costs 549 Yuan (US$ 80 / Rs. 5540 approx.) while the Redmi 7A 32GB model costs 599 Yuan (US$ 86 / Rs. 6050 approx.). It will go on sale in China from June 6th.
