Redmi 8 with 5000mAh battery unveiled

Xiaomi’s Redmi brand as promised, has just announced its new budget mobile called Redmi 8. It has dedicated Dual Nano SIM slots and houses a rear mounted fingerprint sensor.

The handset is 9.4mm thick and comes with Aura mirror design. It comes P2i Splash Proof coating .

The Redmi 8 features in 6.26-inch multi-touch dot-notch display with HD+ resolution at 19:9 aspect ratio. At its core is a 2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 439 chipset. It is powered by Android 9 Pie OS with MIUI 10 on top.

The mobile comes in options of 3GB RAM with 32GB storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB internal memory. All of them come with Dedicated microSD card slot for further storage expansion.

The Redmi 8 specs include 8MP front camera for selfies and supports Face Unlock. At the back side is a combination of 12MP with Dual PD-Focus and 2MP dual shooters and LED Flash. The shooters have AI capabilities like AI Scene recognition.

A 5000mAh battery powers the hardware. It can give about 11 hours of video recording or 12 hours of gaming or 21.5 hours of video playback, 34 hours of talk time or 219 hours of music or about 27 days of standby. There are several AI enhancements for battery like smart task manager, Dynamic power management etc.

Redmi 8 Specifications

The Redmi 8 colors include Onyx Black, Sapphire Blue, Emerald Green and Ruby Red shades. Its 3GB/32GB variant is Rs. 7999 while the 4GB/64GB price is Rs. 8999. It will go on sale on October 12 at Mi.com, Mi Home Store and Flipkart.

Xiaomi has also confirmed that it will launch Redmi Note 8 Pro smartphone in India on October 16th, 2019.
