Xiaomi’s Redmi brand has introduced two new smartphone under its Redmi 9 Series. These are called Redmi 9A Sport and Redmi 9i Sport. Both of these have similar specifications, with only noticeable different being their RAM and Storage options.
Redmi 9A Sport and Redmi 9i Sport specifications and features
Both of these mobile phones measure 164.9 x 77.07 x 9.0 mm and weighs about 194 grams. They come with P2i splash resistant coating and houses dedicated Dual Nano SIM slots and MicroSD card slot.
The Redmi 9i Sport and Redmi 9A Sport specs include 6.53-inch IPS LCD Display with 1600 x 720 pixels resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio, 1500:1 contrast ratio, 400nits (typ) brightness and 70% NTSC color gamut. These have Reading mode certified by TÜV Rheinland.
Under the hood is 2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio G35 processor with IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU. Both mobile phones have 5000mAh battery and supports 10W charging. They run on Android 10 based MIUI 12.
The Redmi 9i Sport feature 4GB LPDDR4X RAM with 64GB / 128GB eMMC 5.1 storage options. It has support for MicroSD card up to 512GB. The Redmi 9A Sport feature 2GB / 3GB LPDDR4X RAM options with 32GB eMMC 5.1 storage space and supports MicroSD card up to 512GB for further expansion.
These cellphone lack fingerprint sensor however, they do support face unlock via its 5MP front camera (with F/2.2 Aperture). At the back side is a single 13MP auto focus shooter with F/2.2 Aperture, 1.0um pixel size and supports up to 1080p video at 30fps.
In terms of connectivity, these have Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth V5.0, MicroUSB V2.0, GPS/GLONASS, FM Radio and 3.5mm audio jack.

The Redmi 9A Sport and Redmi 9i Sport has Carbon Black, Metallic Blue and Coral Green color options. These are up for sale at Mi.com and offline stores. Additionally, the 9i Sport will also sell at Flipkart while the 9A Sport will land at Amazon.in.
