Redmi has officially unveiled its latest flagship gaming smartphone called Redmi K50G (also known as Redmi K50 Gaming Edition). Along with it, company has also introduced Redmi K50G Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team Edition.

Redmi K50G Specifications

Starting with dimensions, the K50G measures 162.5 x 76.7 x 8.5 mm and weighs just about 210 grams. It comes with dual Nano SIM slots and brings support for 5G (SA/NSA) and dual 4G VoLTE. It has dedicated gaming buttons and allows further customization as a hotkey. The gaming triggers make up of eight pop-up magnets and silicone fretting.

The cell phone runs on Android 12 based MIUI 13 out of the box. It has side mounted fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication. The device includes symmetrical 4-unit wideband speakers (dual 1115 subwoofers and dual 0611 tweeters) with Dolby Atmos. The handset has received JBL Sound Quality certification, Hi-Res audio and Hi-Res Wireless certification as well.

The Redmi K50 Gaming Edition specs include 6.67-inch Flexible OLED display that offers 2400 x 1080 pixels resolution. It delivers up to 120Hz refresh rate, up to 480Hz touch sampling rate, 1920Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, 10bit colors, DCI-P3 wide colors, HDR10/10+ video, MEMC and 5000000:1 contrast ratio. The screen has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection as well.

The Redmi K50G comes with octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 mobile platform with Adreno 730 next-gen GPU. It has 8GB / 12GB LPDDR5 RAM (6400Mbps) options with 128GB / 256GB UFS 3.1 storage space. For enhanced thermal performance, the mobile houses 4860mm² large dual vapor chambers along with a large-area graphite.

The Redmi K50 Gaming comes with triple rear cameras and flicker sensor. It has 64MP main ultra-clear 1/1.73-inch SonyIMX686 sensor with 1.6um fusion pixels, 6P lens and supports Hardware Remosaic. It can record up to 4K at 30/60fps, 1080p slow motion at 120fps and 720p slow motion at 120/240/960fps. There is a secondary 8MP ultra-wide angle lens with F/2.2 Aperture and 120-degree FOV coupled with 2MP macro lens with F/2.4 Aperture.

At the front side is a 20MP front camera with Sony IMX596 sensor, F/1.65 aperture. It supports up to 1080p at 30/60fps and 720p slow motion at 120fps. The cell phone houses a 4700mAh (typical) battery and supports 120W hyper charge fast charging. It is said to fully charge handset in about 17 minutes.

The Redmi K50 G feature in 3 Wi-Fi antennas that can reduce latency by 30%. It is world’s first mobile phone to include CyberEngine X-Axis Motor 106. It has vibration frequency range of 50Hz – 500Hz for richer vibration.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6E 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), 2×2 MIMO, 8×8 Sounding for MU-MIMO, Wi-Fi Direct, Miracast, Bluetooth V5.2, dual Band GPS/GLONASS/Beidou/QZSS/NavIC, USB Type-C and Type-C audio.

There are several sensors bundled inside like UltraSonic Distance sensor, 360-degree ambient light, Acceleration, Ambient Color Temperature, e-Compass, Gyroscope and IR control.

Price and Availability

The Redmi K50 Gaming comes in Black, blue and Silver colors. It is already up for order and will go on sale in China from February 18th.
