Xiaomi’s Redmi brnad has officially announced its latest Redmi Note 8 smartphone in China. It is a mid-range device with rear mounted fingerprint sensor (30% smaller than Redmi Note 7).
The Redmi Note 8 Specifications include 6.39-inch multi-touch LCD displaywhich have TÜV Rheinland eye protection certification. The screen offers 2340 x 1080 pixels resolution at 19.5:9 aspect ratio and houses cornign Gorilla Glass 5 protection on front and back. The handset also boasts an impressive 90% screen-to-body ratio.
The mobile measurements are 164.4 x 75.6 x 9.3 mm and has weight of 198 grams. It has Dual SIM slots with Dual 4G VoLTE and runs on Android 9.0 Pie wiht MIUI 10 on top. The handset also comes with P2i Splash Proof nano coating.
The Redmi Note 8 features in octa-core (2GHz Kryo 260 x 4 + 1.8GHz Kryo 260 x 4) Snapdragon 665 Mobile Platform with Adreno 610 GPU. It has options of 4GB RAM with 64GB storage, 6GB RAM with 64GB / 128GB storage options. The storage is further expandable up to 256GB using MicroSD card.
There is a 4000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. For audio, there are improved speakers (40% better output), Smart PC and nano mesh with nanoscale filament for patented automatic cleaning of dust.
The Redmi Note 8 specifications also include 48MP (Sony IMX586 sensor, F/1.79 Aperture, 6P lens, PDAF, EIS) + 8MP (120-degree ultra-wide angle lens, 1.12um pixels) + 2MP (2cm macro, F/2.4 Aperture, 1.75um pixels) and dual LED Flash at the back. At the front is 13MP shooter with F/2.0 Aperture.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth V5.0, GPS/GLONASS, FM radio and 3.5mm Audio jack.
The Redmi Note 8 4GB/64GB price is 999 Yuan (US$ 139 / Rs. 10,030 approx.) while the Redmi Note 8 6GB/64GB costs 1199 Yuan (US$ 167 / Rs. 12,040 approx.). The premium Redmi Note 8 6GB/128GB variant price is 1399 Yuan (US$ 195 / Rs. 14,040 approx.). The handset comes in White, Black and Blue colors and will start selling in China from September 17.
