Refreshed Panasonic Toughbook CF-20 rugged 2-in-1 with upgraded specs launched

Panasonic has introduced refreshed version of its latest detachable notebook called Panasonic Toughbook CF-20. It was first launched back in 2015 and is still the first and only 10.1-inch fully rugged notebook with detachable tablet.
Some of the new features of Panasonic Toughbook CF-20 include an optional magnetic strip reader that can read loyalty cards, driving licenses, membership cards etc. It also comes with improved rear camera that can take sharp photos, even in low light conditions.
Additionally, it has 10.1-inch IPS glove-enabled touch screen which offers 1920 x 1200 pixels WUXGA resolution and delivers 800nits brightness. There is also an option of a digitizer pen that even works in tough weather conditions.
New Panasonic Toughbook CF-20 image -3The refreshed variant also comes with enhanced login security features. It has 2MP Windows Hello enabled front camera, IR Sensors and LED. It is a combination that detects 3D picture of user. The notebook offers about 17 hours of extended usage with a second battery as a standard in keyboard area. In Tablet mode, you can get about 8.5 hours of backup.
The new Toughbook CF-20 gets processing power from 7th Generation Intel Core i5-7Y57 vPro processor (4MB cache, 1.2GHz up to 3.3GHz with Intel Turbo Boos technology) coupled with Intel HD Graphics 615. It has fanless design and sports 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD storage. The device runs on Windows 10 Pro OS out of the box. This 2-in-1 notebook has 4G LTE options.
Talking about ruggedness, this detachable notebook IP65 and MIL-STD 810G Rated and sports magnesium design. It weighs about 1.89 KG in notebook mode, while in detached mode, the tablet weighs about 950 grams. Just for the case of info the keyboard keys are 8% larger than its predecessor.
The new Panasonic Toughbook CF-20 is priced at £2218 + VAT and will be available from March 2018. It comes with 3 years warranty.
