Samsung 16MP ISOCELL Slim 3P9 Image Sensor unveiled

Samsung is not only known for its smartphones or Exynos chipsets but also for its advanced Imaging solutions. Company today introduced its new 16 Megapixel (MP) ISOCELL Slim 3P9 image sensor along with a Plug and Play solution.
The Samsung ISOCELL Slim 3P9 16MP image sensor comes with 1.0µm pixel size. It has Tetracell technology that allows one to capture bright and vivid pictures yet easily fit in to slim phones.
The Tetracell technology merges four neighboring pixels allowing 3P9 to function as a 2.0µm image sensor for front facing camera. It also supports Phased Detection Auto-Focus (PDAF) for faster auto focusing.
Additionally, it has gyro-synchronizer that syncs frame exposure time from the sensor with the movement data from the device’s gyroscope. Along with 16MP ISOCELL Slim 3P9, Samsung is also offering ISOCELL Plug and Play solution for easier camera optimization and fastening the time-to-market availability. Company is also offering 3P9 in rear camera module as well.
Additionally, it also simplifies process of optimizing a camera module, which is made up of parts from different makers by offering a turnkey ISOCELL sensor module tuned for Valued Camera experience (VCX) grade image quality along with other components, licenses, actuators etc.
The Samsung ISOCELL Slim 3P9 with Plug and Play solution is already available for OEMs.
