Samsung Galaxy A22 4G mobile with Helio G80 SoC, 5000mAh battery unveiled

Samsung has officially announced a new Galaxy A Series smartphone called Galaxy A22. The phone is powered by Android 11 OS overlapped with OneUI 3.1.

With dimensions of 159.3 x 73.6 x 8.4 mm and weight of 186 grams, the Samsung Galaxy A22 4G mobile phone offers Dual SIM connectivity (nano SIM slots). It has rear facing fingerprint sensor and supports Samsung Pay.

This particular smartphone packs in a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED Infinity-U display with 1600 x 720 pixels resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio, 90Hz refresh rate and multi-touch support.

Powering inside is octa-core MediaTek Helio G80 SoC with ARM Mali-G52 2EEMC2 GPU. The Galaxy A22 comes in options of 4GB LPDDR4X RAM with 64GB / 128GB eMMC 5.1 storage space and 6GB LPDDR4X RAM with 128GB eMMC 5.1 storage. There is a dedicated microSD card slot for further expansion up to 256GB.

For optics, Samsung Galaxy A22 feature a 13MP front camera with F/2.0 Aperture. At the back side are quad-cameras which makes up of 48MP (main, F/1.8, OIS) + 8MP (ultra-wide, F/2.2) + 2MP (depth, F/2.4) + 2MP (F/2.4) cameras and LED Flash.

Hardware is energized by a 5000mAh (typ) battery capacity which supports 15W fast charging. For connectivity, it has Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth V5.0, NFC, USB Type-C, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou and 3.5mm audio jack. Notably, Dolby Atmos is also present.

The Samsung Galaxy A22 colour options include White, Gray, Mint and Violet shades. Pricing and availability details were not revealed.
