Samsung Galaxy A22 5G with Dimensity 700 SoC announced

Samsung has introduced a new Galaxy A Series 5G smartphone called Galaxy A22 5G. The handset is similar in design with its 4G counterpart but has slightly different specifications.

For starters, Samsung Galaxy A22 5G feature in octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor inside with mali-G57 MC2 GPU. It comes with a 6.6-inch Infinity-V display boasting 2400 x 1080 pixels FHD+ resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio and 90Hz refresh rate.

The phone measures 167.2 x 76.4 x 9.0 mm and weighs about 203 grams. It offers dual SIM connectivity with support for 5G (SA/NSA) and Dual 4G VoLTE. It comes with a side mounted fingerprint sensor and has support for Samsung Pay.

The cellphone has options of 4GB LPDDR4X RAM with 64GB or 128GB UFS 2.1 storage space. There are other variants with 6GB / 8GB LPDDR4X RAM with 128GB UFS 2.1 storage space as well. MicroSD card up to 1TB is supported.

The Galaxy A22 5G specs include 8MP front camera with F/2.0 Aperture coupled with 48MP (main, F/1.8) + 5MP (ultra-wide, F/2.2) + 2MP (depth, F/2.4) cameras at the back with LED Flash.

The smartphone houses a 5000mAh (typical) battery capacity and supports 15W fast charging. For connectivity, it has Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth V5.1, USB Type-C, GPS/GLONASS/Bediou and NFC. For audio, mobile has 3.5mm audio jack and Dolby Atmos support.

The Samsung Galaxy A22 5G 4GB/64GB model price is £199 (RRP) in UK / €229 (US$ 277 / Rs. 20,300 approx.) in Europe. Its 4GB/128GB variant costs €249 (US$ 302 / Rs. 22,060 approx.).
